After a long day of travel I am in Amsterdam at last. It is, as expected, a city of bikes, canals and tulips. It is also very beautiful with amazing architecture, sunny skies and well, tulips.
I won’t lie; Amsterdam and I did not get off to a good start. While the flight was fine, the airport was a bit of a nightmare for several reasons. The trains weren’t running so my carefully researched plan on how to get to Centraal Station had to be revised on the fly and I got quite lost trying to find my hotel which, under the right circumstances can be fun, but not when you’re jetlagged.
All got sorted in the end and a hot shower and a couple of naps have improved my outlook enormously. I spent a little time walking in “my” neighborhood and have already taken a bizillion photos – this place is seriously photogenic. Now I’m looking forward to a good nights sleep. On to the next adventure tomorrow (with far fewer snafus please!)
Make sure you visit Anne Frank’s house!

Congratulations! You’re there! All those bikes! Oh my. What will it be like if they all move out at once. Hope you’ve been doing a little biking in preparation. Have fun, looks awesome.
